Mahesh Babu, superstar of Tollywood Telugu film industry turns 42 years old recently (on Aug 9). Mahesh Babu, who started his acting career as a child artist at the age of 4, owns a property of about 127 crores. In 2005, Mahesh, who has married Miss India and Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar, has a nice car collection too. He has a luxury mansion in Hyderabad, which is currently valued at around Rs 11 crore.
Mahesh Babu’s real name is Ghatta Maneni. However, he is fondly known as Prince Of Tollywood for his good looks by fans and critics alike.
In 1979 Mahesh Babu visited the Sets of “Needa”, a Telugu Film where its Director Dasari Narayana Rao shot few narrative sequences of him. This became the debut for Mahesh Babu in Telugu Film industry as a 4 Year Child Actor.
Mahesh was born on 9 August 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He was the fourth of the five children of Telugu actor Krishna and Indira. His father Krishna was also film actor. When Mahesh Babu took admission in the school, he hid that he was the son of actor Krishna. He did this at the behest of his father. His father did not want that any of his children would take admission in school by resorting to his name.
Mahesh Babu studied in St.Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Tamil Actor Karthi, brother of Tamil Superstar Surya, also studied in the same school. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Loyola College in Chennai.
Mahesh Babu acted as a Child Artist is 9 Films and the list includes Needa, Poratam, Shankharavam, Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu, Gudachari 117, Koduku Diddina Kapuram, Bala Chandrudu, Anna Thammadu. He Played a Dual Role in Koduku Diddina Kaapuram.
He took a break of 9 years in the year 1990 following his father superstar Krishna’s order to complete his studies. After 9 Years i.e. in 1999, he made his debut as a lead actor with “Raja Kumarudu” co-starring Priety Zinta. The film was commercially successful, and people began referring to him with the title Prince. He received the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut.

Mahesh Babu resides in a lavishing bungalow located in the posh and celebrity location of Hyderabad i.e. Film Nagar. In this mansion there is a drawing room, dining room, study room, worship room.There is a separate playroom for children. Keeping the security in mind, the boundaries of the mansion are quite high. He also owns a magnificent manor in the jubilee hills.
He has 90 lakh rupees vanity van, which is named Caravan. During the movie ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu‘ in 2013, he bought this van.
During the shoot of ‘Vamsi’ at Australia, Mahesh began to date his co-star Namrata Shirodkar. After being in a relationship for four years, they decided to get married, and Mahesh Babhu’s sister Manjula convinced their father Krishna in favour of their decision. They were married on 10 February 2005 at the Marriott Hotel, Mumbai during the shooting of ‘Athadu’.
Mahesh began and Namrata welcomed their first child, a boy, on 31 August 2006 in Hyderabad. The boy, named Gautham Krishna, was a premature baby and was in critical condition during his birth. His condition turned stable after the doctors treated him in time. On 20 July 2012 Namrata gave birth to a girl whom they named Sitara.
He won various awards like Nandi Awards, Best Actor Award, Filmfare Award, CineMAA Award, Santosham Award etc. for his acting performance in various movies. In 2012, he was the 31st person in Forbes Top 100 Popular Celebrity of India.
