There are so many actresses in the South Film Industry, whose beauty and acting have led them to today’s top actress. However, many of these actresses are not from South but are from other places. 1. Taapsee Pannu 


Taapsee Pannu who was born on 1 August 1987 is one of the famous actress of South Film Industry. Taapsee has worked in many films of South, but her original birth place is Delhi. Apart from being an actress, Taapsee is also an IT engineer. But, to fulfill her dream she came in the field of acting. She made her acting debut in 2010 with K. Raghavendra Rao’s romantic-musical Jhummandi Naadam. She made her Bollywood debut from the movie ‘Chashme Badhur’. He has also worked in Hindi films such as Baby and Pink.

2. Kajal Aggarwal

Kajal Agarwal who was born on 19 June 1985 in Mumbai has worked in South as well as in Hindi movies. Kajal also did item numbers in many South films. She made her acting debut in 2004 with Bollywood movie ‘Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na’. She gained recognition with hit film ‘Chandamama’ and received several praises with Telugu fiction movie ‘Magadheera’.

3. Ileana D’Cruz

Ileana D’Cruz was born on 1 November 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Initially, she has worked in commercials. She started her career as a model and later debuted with the Telugu film Devadasu in 2006 directed by Y.V.S.Chowdhary. In 2012, she made her debut in Bollywood with Barfi opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Later, she has worked in bollywood films like Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Main Tera Hero, Happy Ending, Rustom, Mubarakan.

4. Tamannaah Bhatia 

Tamannaah who was born on 21 December 1989 in Mumbai, Maharashtra is one of the famous actress of South. She has been working from the age of 13. She became famous with the Telugu film Happy Days. In 2005, she made her acting debut in Bollywood movie Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. She has appeared in the music video of Lafzon Mein Keh Na Saku by Abhijeet Sawant, former Indian Idol winner which was his first video too. She has acquired the title “Tamil Nadu Kalaimamani award”.

5Bhumika Chawla

Bhumika Chawla was born on 21 August, 1978  in a Punjabi family in New Delhi. After completing her schooling from Delhi, she came to Mumbai to pursue her career in 1997. Later, she got an opportunity to work in the Add and Hindi Music album. Chawla started off her film career in the Telugu film industry, starring in the feature film Yuvakudu (2000) alongside actor Sumanth. After a number of critically and commercially successful films in the South, Chawla starred in her first Bollywood film, Tere Naam (2003), alongside Salman Khan.

6. Nagma

Nagma who was born on 25 December, 1974 made her debut from the film Baghi: A Rebel for Love, opposite Salman Khan in 1990. Her real name is Nandita Arvind Morarji. Nagma has acted in a broad range of India’s languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, and Marathi.

7. Neha Sharma

Neha Sharma was born on 21 November 1987 in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. She has attended the Mount Carmel School in Bhagalpur and pursued a course in fashion design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in New Delhi. She made her tollywood debut from the film Chirutha in 2007. She made her hindi film debut with bollywood flick “Crook” in 2010. Later she was seen in a cameo appearance in Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahaani and was also seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum. She was recently seen in the movie Mubarakan.

8. Genelia D’souza

Genelia was born on 5 August 1987 into a Catholic Family in Mumbai. She has appeared in many regional cinemas like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. Genelia made her acting debut in 2003 with Hindi movie Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, but soon achieved recognition with the Tamil film Boys the same year.  Her big break came with her act in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ in 2008 as Aditi Mahnat, opposite Imran Khan.

9. Hansika Motwani

Hansika was born on 9 August 1991, in Mumbai. She is an Indian actress, who mainly works in Tamil and Telugu films. She was also seen in various TV commercials that include Pepsi, Samsung, Hyundai Santro TV, Nirma and Bournvita. Hansika made her debut in a lead role in Telugu film Desamuduru. She made her leading actress debut in Bollywood with Aap Kaa Surroor. Her Tamil debut film was Mappillai opposite Dhanush.

10. Namrata Shirodkar

Namrata was born on 22 January 1972 in Mumbai. She was crowned as Femina Miss India Asia Pacific in 1993. She was first seen in 2000 Telugu film “Vamsi” opposite Mahesh Babu. She made her Hindi film debut in 1998 with Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai in a cameo role, later in Mere Do Anmol Ratan as a main lead. Namrata is away from acting post her marriage.
