Mahesh Bhupathi gets angry after Lara Dutta uses his Wimbledon towel to protect home from Mumbai rains!

Mumbai is currently facing the heaviest rainfall. Many parts of the city are waterlogged above knee length level. Roads have become impossible to travel. Airports, Railway Stations, Complexes, even houses are flooded with water.

Well, Former Miss Universe and wife of India tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, Lara Dutta did what probably most of us would do to protect her home from Mumbai’s lashing rains yesterday.

She plugged the gaps near the window/door frames with cloth to prevent water from seeping in. But ironically, she used some of Mahesh’s precious towels for the same.

Dutta posted a picture on the social networking site showing rolled up towels against large glass doors. She captioned it as “Putting our Wimbledon, US Open, Aus Open &French Open towels to good use!@Maheshbhupathi #MumbaiRain.Stay safe & indoors if possible folks!,” Dutta wrote on Twitter.

Bhupathi who has won the Australian Open twice (mixed doubles), the French Open four times (two men’s and two mixed doubles), Wimbledon (two mixed and one men’s doubles) and the US Open (two mixed and one men’s doubles) thrice.

Soon after she posted the picture, she received a mixed bag of comments, some fans finding the funny side of it while some others criticised her usage of the hard earned towels.

But, her husband was not happy with his wife’s effort. He shot back and wrote: “Are u kidding me !!!! That’s years of hard work.”

The Maharashtra government and civic authorities sounded high alert as torrential rains lashed Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad and other parts of the state for the fourth consecutive day, severely affecting normal life and paralysing the lifelines — local train and bus services — in the state capital.
