When drunk Sanjay Dutt tried to enter Sridevi’s makeup room!

We all know that Sridevi worked with Sanjay Dutt in one film that is Gumrah and after this film Sridevi never worked with Sanjay in any film.

Sanjay Dutt was paired with many actresses from the 1980s be it Padmini Kolhapure, Anita Raj, Amrita Singh, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Madhuri Dixit, Mandakini, Jaya Prada, Farha, Sonam, Rati Agnihotri, Tina Munim & others but never with the No.1 actress of the 80s decade Sridevi.

Well, the answer is here and probably some of you know it. Maybe there are others who don’t know about it hence we will explain as the story was told by Sanjay Dutt himself in one of his interviews to Filmfare magazine.

In 1983, when Sridevi was shooting for Himmatwala, at that time Sanjay Dutt just started his career and he was a big fan of Sridevi. As soon as he was informed by his friend that Sridevi is shooting for ‘Himmatwala’ with Jeetendra, he reached immediately on the sets only to see Sridevi.

In those days Sanjay Dutt’s time was not going well. He drunk a lot and also taken drugs and in that condition he decided to go to the set of the film and meet Sridevi.

When Sridevi was not seen on the sets, Sanjay Dutt enters in Sridevi’s makeup room. Sanjay says he cannot remember exactly what he said and how he behaved but it was not a good moment and Sridevi was horrified and  immediately shut the door.

After this incident, Sridevi became so scared that she never again worked with Sanjay Dutt in her span of career. But after time, Sridevi had to sign a film opposite Sanjay Dutt. The film name was ‘Zameen’. When Sridevi signed the film, she clearly to the directors that she didn’t want even a single scene in the film with Sanjay Dutt. Since, Sridevi was one of the top actress of that time, the film makers assured her that she will not be having scenes with Sanjay Dutt. But that film got shelved due to problems and never saw the light!

However, it is not that after this Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt did not have the opportunity to work together, but Sridevi’s first experience with Sanjay Dutt was so scary that she could not recover from it and she rejected each and every film opposite Sanjay.

This happened even during Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Gumrahah’. Sanjay Dutt had already been signed in the film. During the film, the time had come when Sanjay Dutt’s success graph was increasing rapidly, while Sridevi was gradually losing his charm. Firstly, she tried to get Sanjay Dutt out from the film but when she did not get success, Sridevi did not have any choice but to work with Sanjay Dutt.

According to reports, their was no communication between these two on the sets. Even when the romantic scene shot between the two, Soon after the cut, she used to go away from Sanjay and did not even talk.

But Sanjay Dutt ignored Sridevi’s behavior and he also knows the reason behind Sridevi’s this behavior. Well, the film was a huge hit and people liked Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi’s chemistry too. But Sridevi was not happy with the film’s success as she thinks that Sanjay is now a big star, so he got more footage in the film.

Because of this, the sourness between the two gets increased and they never worked with each other.
