Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently honoured with the Global Diversity Award 2017 at Britain’s House of Commons.
The actor has been awarded for his phenomenal efforts and achievement for Global Diversity by Rt Hon Keith Vaz, British MP and the British Parliament’s longest-serving British Asian MP.
The actor was honoured for his contribution to the Indian film industry as an actor, producer, television personality, singer and philanthropist.
“The Global Diversity Award is given to people of immense stature in terms of what they have done for diversity in the world, and he is certainly one of them,” Vaz said.
“Salman Khan is a role model and a hero to millions of people worldwide. Besides his Indian cinema success, Salman is a well- known philanthropist and his NGO Being Human has done life changing work supporting the underprivileged in India. It is a tremendous honour to present him with the award. I am proud that young Asians worldwide have role models like Salman Khan.” he added.
Calling the award a tremendous honour, Salman said, “Thank you for the respect and honour you have given me. My father would have never thought… But the amount of respect you guys have given me, thank you so much for it.”
“Although I have received many film awards, this is the first I have received personally so I am incredibly humbled.” he added.
On the work front, Salman Khan will be next seen in Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, that will reunite him with Katrina Kaif.
