The SLB’s movie has almost gone through every possible obstacle, and is still struggling to get the released.The movie has already faced threats from the Rajput outfit Shri Rajput Karni Sena.
Now if latest reports are to be believed, Central Board of Certification has returned the film saying that it is ‘incomplete’. CBFC denied viewing the film on the grounds of ‘deficiency in application’.
A news agency quoted a source saying, “The film was submitted for certification last week. We examined the documents, as we normally do. It was conveyed to the makers that their application was incomplete. They had to rectify and send it back; we will view it when it comes back to us.”
The source further added, “When they (makers) rectify the deficiency we will again scrutinise it once more and when the turn comes we will examine it (film for certification).”
The report added that the source denied divulging any further details about the said deficiency in the application because of which it was sent back for rectification. The development has also been confirmed by Ajit Andhare, COO Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. “That’s true. But film is with the CBFC, it is merely a minor technical issue. Nothing stops them from seeing the film if they want,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.
It is also being said that the film which is slated to release on December 1 but it seems like the film might gets delayed.
Earlier, Sri Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi as saying, “Who will tolerate the fact that Rani Padmavati is being shown as the lover of Allauddin Khilji? Deepika Padukone, in her statement, said that the film would be released at any cost. She is not the president of this nation. She is trying to provoke us. I, the founder of Rajput Karni Sena, am saying that this film will not be released.”
Padmavati features Deepika in the lead playing the titular role of Rani Padmavati, Ranveer Singh and Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maharwal Ratan Singh.
