Thespian Dilip Kumar’s property in Pali Hill in Bandra is once again in the headlines. Dilip Kumar retrieved possession of the disputed Pali Hill property, which was under the possession of real estate firm Prajita Developers Pvt Ltd.
In September, the keys to the property were handed over to Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu in the presence of the Mumbai police.
Now, Saira Banu has reportedly sent a written complaint to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis alleging harassment in the hands of a builder Samir Bhojwani.
In her complaint, Banu said builder Samir Bhojwani was wrongly claiming to be the owner of the premises. She also accused him of “pressuring and threatening” her, her husband and nephew to vacate the property. “I am a senior citizen, and to harass us, the accused has come up with a conspiracy to usurp the property,” she said. Banu has also sent a letter to the economic offences wing.
She has also submitted documents pertaining to the title and rights of the property in suburban Mumbai.
Here is a copy of the letter:
Bhojwani told TOI, “The matter is sub judice before the court, in which the complainant is also a party. Inspite of the factual position, the complainant has chosen to make completely false allegations of forged documents, which is regrettable.”
Claiming that Dilip Kumar was only a lessee and that the property was purchased by his late father N N Bhojwani from the Mulraj Khatau Trust in 1980, he added, “In 2010, after the bungalow was demolished, I filed a case for vacant possession because the lessee had breached the covenant of the lease.
