Pratibha was born on on July 4, 1969 in Kolkata, West Bengal. She made her film debut opposite Sujoy Mukherjee (son of 1960s star Joy Mukherjee) in the 1992 film Mehboob Mere Mehboob.
She is mostly remembered for her dance performance in the 1996 blockbuster Raja Hindustani in the song “Pardesi Pardesi”.

Pratibha did not work in more films. She was last seen in the film Le Chal Apne Sang in 2000. After this movie, she quits acting and said goodbye to the film industry forever.
But today, the actress has changed completely. Pratibha is a daughter of veteran actress Mala Sinha.
Pratibha remained more in news for her love affair with music director Nadeem Shravan than her Bollywood stint. Nadeem was also suspected of murdering Gulshan Kumar.
