Pooja Bhatt trolled for calling out Amitabh Bachchan’s no comment on Kathua and Unnao rape case!

Amitabh Bachchan’s refusal to comment on Kathua and Unnao rape case has led to a variety of reactions. At the launch of song “Badumbaaa” in Mumbai recently, Amitabh was asked to comment on the big issue considering he is the brand ambassador of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ movement.

Choosing his words wisely, Big B said, “Mujhe uss vishay par charcha karne mein ghinn aati hai. So uss vishay ko uchhalo mat (I feel disgusted to even discuss this issue. So, please don’t bring this up. It is terrible to even talk about it).”

Well, this comment didn’t goes well down with many people and one of them is filmmaker and actress, Pooja Bhatt. She took to her Twitter account and indirectly called out Bachchan as she wrote, “I can’t help being reminded of a film called #Pink. Can our images on screen please be reflected in reality?”

However, people decided to troll Pooja instead and reminded her of her battle with alcoholism to bring her down. Pooja didn’t take all those comments lying down and slammed the trolls in her own manner.

Pooja won her battle with the bottle last year and she celebrated nine-month of sobriety with her fans on Instagram by posting a nine-month old picture of herself. In another post, she posted some screenshots of her debut film, Daddy, and talked about the irony of having ‘saved’ an alcoholic father in the film only to battle with alcoholism herself.

‘Daddy’ was commissioned by the national broadcaster, Doordarshan. Brave of them considering the inherent theme was alcoholism, a topic still considered taboo in our country. The fact that ‘Daddy’ was rooted in my father’s alcoholism is no secret. He himself has openly spoken about it, time and again. But who would have thought that the girl who saved her father from sinking into an alcoholic abyss in her first film would someday have to fight long and hard to prevent herself from drowning as well? Life is stranger than fiction and comes full circle. But it also gives you the opportunity to rewrite your narrative. You just have to be courageous enough to do it yourself. #Daddy #debutfilm #maheshbhatt #anupamkher #rajzutshi #poojabhatt #doordarshan #autobiographical #filmfromtheheart #relevant #relevantcinema #stilltopical #lifecomesfullcircle #alcohol #alcoholism #bustthestigma #sobriety #sobrietyrocks #sobrietyrockstars #onefromtheheart
