‘Daas Dev’ the film directed by Sudhir Mishra has been released in cinemas. The fiercely political movie follows a path contrary to the plot of the classic novel Devdas and talks about the protagonist’s addiction and his journey from a ‘Daas’ to ‘Dev’.
Story of the movie: The film revolves around Dev (Rahul Bhat) who is the heir to a political throne and lost his dad to an accident. He has been brought up by an uncle (Saurabh Shukla) who received the throne upon his dad’s death. Paro (Richa Chadha) is the daughter of a close aide of Dev’s father and loves the heir apparent. Circumstances make Dev abandon Paro when she needed him the most and instead of mourning over her love story gone wrong, she decides to face him in the political battleground. Chandni or the film’s Chandramukhi (Aditi Rao Hydari) is a fixer who uses her charms to play the dirty game of politics. She, too, falls for Dev. Well, who plays political games with whom? Will Paro get his Dev? Will Chandani gets succeed in her games? For this, you have to watch the film.
Star Performance: Rahul Bhat has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. He got the perfect opportunity to show off his talent. Aditi was okay in her role. While, Richa Chadha, as usual, walks through the role like a true professional. And, the supporting cast like Saurabh Shukla, Dalip Tahil, Vipin Sharma, Anil George and others have done justice to their roles.
Music Direction: The film’s music is okay.
Direction: The film’s direction is okay. The director comes up with a mixed bag of a movie, that lacks to hold your attention in many instances. The screenplay by Mishra and Jaydeep Sarkar was okay.
Watch Or Not: One time watch!
