Last month, a police case has been filed against actress Surveen Chawla and her husband and brother for a fraud of Rs 40 lakh.
Satyapal Gupta, a resident of Hoshiyarpur has filed an FIR against the trio, accusing them of committing a fraud of the aforementioned amount.
Gupta claimed that he lent them Rs. 40 lakh for making ‘Nil Battey Sannata’. Satyapal alleged that the trio approached him for funds to invest in the film and promised Rs 50 lakh in return within six months. Therefore, Satyapal gave them fund. However, after the film released, they started to ignore Satyapal’s calls and he never got his money back.
Well now, the actress finally speaks about these allegations. While talking to Spotboye, Surveen said, “I think once the matter reaches the court, it’s best for them to decide. Truth will come out in due course of time and when it has to. And that’s all I have to say about this.”
Starring Swara Bhaskar, Riya Shukla, Ratna Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles, ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ released on April 22, 2016.
The film was jointly produced by JAR Pictures and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions.
Meanwhile, Surveen last appeared in Ekta Kapoor’s web-series ‘Haq Se’ which starred Rajeev Khandelwal opposite her.
