It’s Confirmed! Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to act together in ‘Gulab Jamun’ after 8 years!

Real-life couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan lit up the big screen whenever they teamed up be it ‘Guru’, ‘Raavan’ or ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’, their on-screen chemistry is loved by everyone.

Well now, after months of speculations, it is being confirmed that the duo will star in Sarvesh Mewara’s Gulab Jamun.

Aishwarya Rai herself confirmed this news. She told, “AB and I agreed to do Gulab Jamun. I told AB that he needs to decide what he wants to do after Manmarziyan.”

She said that the film was offered to them a year and a half ago. “We had agreed on the idea then. However, it was around the same time that AB decided to take time out. After the hiatus, he returned with Manmarziyan, which coincidentally is directed by Anurag Kashyap. That’s when the chatter around Gulab Jamun began again, and we finally came on board. It is a beautiful script and we fit the narrative perfectly,” Aishwarya said.

When Aishwarya was asked how a script excites them, she said, “We have got many scripts, and at times, we got tempted too. But then, we discuss it out loud. We take stock and say, ‘Does it excite us?’ Why should marriage define our choices? Shouldn’t we be actually approaching the story as individual actors?”
