Few months ago, there were news doing the rounds that bollywood actor Ali Zafar has been accused of sexual harassment by Pakistani singer Meesha Sahfi.
Meesha alleged Ali sexually harassed her on multiple occasions, more women took to Twitter with similar allegations.
Well now, the Governor of Punjab has dismissed the appeal of Meesha against Zafar under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.
The Express Tribune quoted the actor’s legal team as stating, “Meesha was not compelled in any way to work with Ali. The appeal was dismissed some time ago, around the same time Ali’s debut Pakistani film Teefa in Trouble was releasing. Therefore, we didn’t want the attention of the movie to be diverted.”
According to reports, Shafi’s legal team will appeal again on a competent forum.
In April, Meesha accused the actor of physically harassing her on “more than one occasion”. However, Ali denies the allegations and said that silence is not an option and he will take a legal course to counter Shafi’s charges against him.
