Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma unveils the logo of ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made In India’

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma is all set to star in upcoming film ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made In India’. This is the first time that Varun and Anushka are going to come together on-screen.


Till yet, we have been seen various pictures of the duo from the sets of the film. And today, on the occasion of National Handloom day, Varun and Anushka finally unveils the logo of their film.

In the video, the actors reveal the team sent a stencil to several artists in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and more. All the artists sent their own designs in gorgeous colours and fabrics. For the first time ever, film’s logo has been made by artisans from across the country.

The logo for the film been done in a striking, globally popular Indian hand needlework forms of Kashida and Sozni from Kashmir, colourful Phulkari from Punjab, the intricate thread work forms Rabari and Mochi Bharat from Gujarat, Phool Patti from Uttar Pradesh and Zardozi work from Lucknow. This Sui Dhaaga logo can also be created in Rajasthan’s prominent crafts like Aari, Banjara and Gota Patti, Tamil Nadu’s popular Toda style and Karnataka’s Kasuti design. Travelling towards the east, which constitutes of over 50 per cent of India’s handloom exports, the film’s logo has been made in Pipli style from Odisha, Handloom work from Assam, Kantha stitch work from West Bengal.

Talking about their characters, Anushka will be seen playing the role of Mamta, an embroiderer. While, Varun played the role of Mauji, a tailor and an office peon in the film.

Anushka and Varun will be promoting their film in 10 different cities in India. The duo will be celebrating local artisanship and craftwork during the city tours of their film. The promotions for their film will be going on for 40 days. They will be travelling in the cities Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore among others to promote Sui Dhaaga.

Directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma of YRF, the film promotes the message of ‘Make in India’.

The film will release on September 28.
