Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Stree’ has been released in cinemas. The film is based on the urban legend of Nale Ba from 1990’s Karnataka. The myth says that a witch would come knocking at people’s doors at night. The witch would deceive people by taking out the voices of their kin and enter the house. Whoever opens the door is believed to die. To cope with this, the residents of the area would write ‘Nale Ba’ (means ‘come tomorrow’ in Kannada) outside their doors and walls of their houses which would make the witch go away and the cycle would repeat.

Story of the movie: The story of the film starts with Chanderi, where Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) is seen as a local tailor, who is so skilled, he can just see a woman, and take measurements required to stitch a salwarlehenga or ghagra. That’s why he is called as Manish Malhotra of Chanderi. Meanwhile, the place where the movie is based (Chanderi), is living in fear of a Ghost (Stree) who comes once in a year (for four nights) and abducts men, leaving only their clothes behind. Vicky’s life is going well, until Shraddha Kapoor comes into his life, who appears only during the four-day puja in the village, and later disappears. Vicky’s close buddies Bittu (Aparshakti Khurrana) and Jana (Abhishek Banerjee) get afraid of him meeting with this unknown girl who they think is Stree. Then, Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi) is an expert learning about the existence of Stree and helps Vicky and friends. Is Shraddha Kapoor is a Stree? How does Vicky save his friends and other villagers from the havoc of a Stree? For these questions, you have to watch the film.

Star Performance: Rajkummar Rao, as usual delivered a brilliant performance. As far as Shraddha Kapoor is concerned, one must give credit to her for picking up a role like this. While, others like Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee has done justice to his role.

Music Direction: The film’s music is good. Sachin-Jigar’s songs are a treat.

Direction: The film’s direction is good. Filmmaker, Amar has done a fairly decent job. Their are also some funny dialogues which will make you laugh. While, the story of the film could be even better. But, all over, the film is good.

Watch Or Not: Don’t wait, just go and watch!
