Finally! The wait is over. Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister has finally released and the actor’s uncanny resemblance to the former PM Manmohan Singh will leave you speechless.
The trailer shows Dr Singh’s alleged conflicts with his party and especially former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who seems to be constantly pushing for her son, Rahul.
It starts off with Dr Singh being appointed as the Prime Minister by UPA chairperson and then Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi, followed by his swearing-in ceremony.
As the story moves on, it shows Singh is not as much in command as he had thought. It is shown in several instances that Dr Singh and Sonia Gandhi did not agree on many issues of national importance such as over Kashmir, as well as the nuclear deal.
The film is based on the life of Dr Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of the country. Titled as The Accidental Prime Minister, the movie is based on the book of the same name which was penned by political commentator Sanjaya Baru.

Written by National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the political drama will also have Akshaye Khanna.
