Ashutosh Gowariker’s magnum opus Panipat to have a huge star cast of 110 actors

Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Panipat starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon is one of the much-awaited films. The film will be based on the third battle of Panipat.

Now, the film is all set to create a history on screen with a huge star cast of about 110 actors. 

Yes, if reports are to be believed, Ashutosh Gowariker roped in about 110 actors for the film and apparently each one of them will be having a substantial part in the film.

Panipat to have a huge star cast of 110 actors

Casting director Rohan Mapuskar after a month-long research and back-to-back auditions finally locked the final cast of the film and it is undoubtedly a mighty one. Speaking about the enormous starcast, Mapuskar said, “The third battle of Panipat lasted for several days and involved almost 125,000 troops, so you can imagine the scale of it. There were many important people involved in this battle, hence we had to cast so many actors in the film. Director Ashutosh Gowariker has envisioned the film on a huge scale, and ‘Panipat’ will definitely be a grand cinematic experience.”

Panipat is based on the third battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on January 14, 1761.

The battle was fought between the northern expeditionary Force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.

The film is produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar’s company – Vision World. The film is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
