Bollywood actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha is all set to join Congress after serving BJP for many years.

Well now, Sonkashi who recently attended HT Style Awards 2019 that took place in Mumbai, was quizzed about her father’s decision of leaving BJP. To this, the actress said that her father should have taken the decision long back. 

She was quoted by ANI saying, “It’s his choice. I think if you’re not happy somewhere you must bring a change & that’s what he did. I hope in this new association with Congress, he’ll be able to do more good work&not feel suppressed.”

She added, “Being a party member from the beginning, from the time of JP Narayan ji, Atal ji & Advani ji my father has a lot of respect within party & I feel the entire group hasn’t been given the respect they deserve. I think he has done it a bit too late, should’ve done it long back.”

Shatrughan Sinha, who has been openly critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah, announced his decision to quit the BJP on Thursday after his meeting with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi.

His exit from the party came days after Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was declared as the party’s candidate from Bihar’s Patna Sahib, Mr Sinha’s constituency of 10 years.

The actor-turned politician announced on Thursday in a tweet “Painfully….on the way out of BJP….But hopefully in the best direction under the dynamic leadership of my dear friend Lalu Yadav and the desirable, most talked about leader from the Nehru Gandhi family… the true family of nation builders….” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi is gearing up to work in the third Dabangg film. The actress will again be seen reprising her role of Rajjo in Dabangg 3 with Salman Khan.
