The Tashkent Files review

Story of the movie:

The story of the film starts with Ragini Phule (Shweta Basu Prasad), an ambitious political journalist who is in search of a sensationalist topic. is known to write fake news in need for likes and retweets is given 9 days to bring in a good scope. However, after an anonymous caller gives her a tip on Shastri’s death, she inexplicably becomes a crusader for the truth and even puts her life at risk for the same. Ragini’s report as a front page story leads to government forming a committee comprises of a historian Ayesha (Pallavi Joshi), former politician Shyam Sunder Tripathi (Mithun Chakraborty), Scientist Gangaram (Pankaj Tripathi), Raw Chief Annanath Suresh (Prakal Belawadi) and Social Servant (Mandira Bedi) Ragini is added to the committee, and she continues her investigations on the side. With the ‘war of narratives’ going in that room, everyone has a different agenda/theory regarding the case and they scream a lot.

Star Performance:

Shweta Basu Prasad has delivered a brilliant performance. Mithun Chakraborty also  performs his role deliberately. Naseeruddin Shah is wasted. While, Pankaj Tripathi, Mandira Bedi and Pallavi Joshi have done justice to their roles.

Music Direction:

The film’s music is okay.

Direction:

The film’s direction is good. But, the storytelling effort is half-baked and lacks the finesse that such a heavy-duty film requires. The courtroom scenes are intriguing. The screenplay of the movie is extremely poor.

Watch Or Not:

Watch it if you likes political dramas films.
