Legendary music composer Khayyam passes away due to cardiac arrest on August 19. He was 92. He breathed his last at 9:30 pm at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sujay Hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu.
As soon as, this sad news broke out several bollywood celebs arrived to pay their last respect to the veteran music composer.
The funeral of legendary music-composer Khayyam was performed with full state honours.
Bollywood celebrities like Sonu Nigam, Gulzar, Poonam Dhillon, Javed Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj and others arrived to pay their last respects.

Khayyam’s funeral
Khayyam has always preferred to work with the poets having strong background of poetry sidelining the regular film lyricists. That is the reason one finds poetry playing an equal role in Khayyam’s compositions as the music or the singer. Khayyam prefers to give full freedom to the poets to express their views thereby making the expression of the songs more poetic and more meaningful.
