Bollywood Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar who was taken to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital yesterday has slowly improved. Reportedly, her condition is stable now.
She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital after she complained of difficulty in breathing during the early hours of Monday.
“Lata ji is stable. Her parameters are good. Honestly speaking, she has fought so well that she is coming out of this setback. Being a singer, her lung capacity has pulled her through. Truly a fighter. We will update everyone when Lataji gets discharged and comes home,” her family said.

“She had viral chest congestion and keeping her age in mind as a precautionary measure. She has checked in to Breach Candy Hospital in order to ensure antibiotics on time to prevent any more infection. She is stable and recovering.”
A statement from Lata Mangeshkar’s family on Monday said, “Lata didi suffered from a viral chest infection. Presently, she is on a path of recovery. We could have treated her at home But we decided to get her to hospital. It’s close to our home plus treatment is thorough.” Sister Usha Mangeshkar told PTI that the singer would be discharged on Tuesday.
Lata Mangeshkar (90) has won several awards over the years for her contribution to Indian music. She has been honoured with the Bharat Ratna (India’s Highest Civilian Award), Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan (1999), and Dadasaheb Phalke Award, among others.
