Amitabh Bachchan down with fever, to miss National Award Ceremony


Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday reveals that he is down with fever and will not be able to attend the National Film Awards ceremony in Delhi on December 23.

The actor took to his Twitter and wrote, “Down with fever .. ! Not allowed to travel .. will not be able to attend National Award tomorrow in Delhi .. so unfortunate .. my regrets ..”

The actor is going to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema at the 66th National Film Awards.

The National Film Awards is the most prominent award ceremony in India. The ceremony is to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, it will be attended by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured with four National Film Awards, for the films Agneepath, Black, Paa and Piku. He also received the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
