Over the years Indian television shows given us some sizzling on-screen couples who have reintroduced the meaning of love.
It’s a popular belief that casting directors have it easy; but there have been quite few instances where they have ideated and presented us with the most awful jodis ever seen on-screen. These couples have completely twisted the meaning of the word ‘chemistry’. Take a look here:
1.Tejasswi Prakash and Afaan Khan
Show: Pehredaar Piya Ki
TV show Pehredaar Piya Kihas been one of the most controversial shows of this year. The show is based on the story of an 18-year-old girl who is married to a 9-year-old boy. Afaan Khan, who played lead actor Ratan in the show is 10 years old, fall in love with Diya aka Tejasswi Prakash. Twist in the story that this mismatched couple gets married in the show. Despite all the hate and outrages, the show is still doing well in terms of ratings.
2. Rytasha Rathore and Prince Narula
Show: Badho Bahu
The story of the series narrates the story of an overweight girl who overcomes her life’s battles with aplomb (Overweight). The show features “Bigg Boss 9” winner Prince Narula and debutante Rytasha Rathore, who plays 100 kg girl named Komal. In the show, they get married. “Badho Bahu” is aired on &TV.
3. Juhi Aslam and Vikrant Massey
Show: Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo
Famous as the name of Bharti, 3.5 feet young Juhi Aslam got the first acting break in 2010 with ‘Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo’ . The story of this show was based on Bharti Chauhan i.e. Juhi who belongs to a very rich family. It’s a first of sorts not only for Juhi, but for Indian television as well! Never before has a protagonist been a dwarf both in reel and real life. In the show Juhi belongs to a rich family who got married to a poor Murli Laal ( (5.6 फुट) (Vikrant Massey). Murli only agrees because he knows that this will help finance his younger sister’s wedding. The show was in limelight quite a bit about this miss matched couple.

Show: Bandini
Actress Aasiya Kazi made her TV debut at the age of 18 with the show “Bandini”as Santu. In this show she became the wife of Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi (Ronit Roy) who is 26 years older than her. Dharamraj is still in love with his dead wife Subhadra, who has left him with 5 children.
5. Prachi Desai and Ram Kapoor
Show: Kasamh Se
The story “Kasam Se” is about 3 sisters who promise to support each other. Bani (Prachi Desai ) is the oldest, mature and responsible. In the show Ram Kapoor and Prachi Desai made a mismatch pair. Here also the age difference between the couple is 15 years.
6. Satyajit Sharma and Neha Marda
Show: Balika Vadhu
Satyajit Sharma, who became a household name as Basant in the serial “Balika Vadhu” was paired opposite Neha Marda aka Gehna. The couple was mismatch as they have a huge age difference bot h on-screen and off-screen. The show “Balika Vadhu” was based on child marriage.
