65th National Film Awards: Late actress Sridevi wins best actress award for her performance in MOM!

Today, 65th National Film Awards has been announced. Among various winners, Sridevi wins best actress award for her performance in MOM.


 Sridevi played the role of a mother of a rape victim, who takes revenge from the rapists. Sridevi was lauded for her performance in the film directed by Ravi Udyawar.

The actress died on January 24, 2018 in Dubai due to accidental drowning in bathtub. She was 54. The actress was in Dubai to attend her nephew’s Mohit Marwah’s wedding.

The actress was one of the famous actress of Hindi Cinema. She ruled the hearts of millions. Her sudden death was a huge shock for her family and her industry colleagues. She was cremated with full state honours, wrapping her mortal remains with a tricolour.

Besides Sridevi, late actor Vinod Khanna awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to the world of cinema.

Rajkummar Rao’s Newton won an award in the Best Hindi film category, Pankaj Tripathi won a special mention for his impeccable performance in Newton.
