I had done my Masters in music from Guru Nanak Dev University where Kapil Bhaiya and Bharti Singh were senior to me pursuing Masters in theatre. We used to go together in festivals together where he used to do theatre and I used to participate in music competition. But, there were time when I used to do some mimicry also. Kapil Bhaiya had observed that and so he suggested my name for ‘The Great Laughter Challenge’ auditions. Initially, my family members opposed a lot; especially my grandfather. But few episodes later, he got convinced and let me follow my dreams in Mumbai,”
27 year old Sugandha hails from Jalandar. Her family is from a musical background. She says “I have never thought I will become a popular comedian. My family members always recommended to focus on music, but I wanted to come to prominence with Different Personality. Music always makes me happy but the Happiness from comedy is different. I do not want to choose any one of these two creative works. That’s why I carry both music and comedy equally. The good thing is that the people and my family have accepted my talent.”
