Tollywood actress Rambha was on Thursday summoned by the Banjara Hills police in a dowry harassment case registered in 2014, when she had come to the city from Canada for a film shoot.

In July 2014, Rambha’s sister-in-law Pallavi registered a dowry harassment case against Rambha, her parents and brother under section 498-A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 3 & 5 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. It may further suspend her passport to restrict her from leaving the country.
As Rambha was residing at Canada with her family, police failed to serve her with the summons a few times earlier.
On January 10 this year, police came to know that Rambha was in the city to attend a film shoot. So they served her with the summons at Padmalaya studios to appear before the court.
