#RaeesPromotion: SRK deeply saddened by man’s death at Vadodara railway station!

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday expressed condolence, over the death of a fan at the Vadodara railway station during the promotional tour of his movie “Raees”.

Shah Rukh — known for ingenious marketing ideas — boarded the August Kranti Rajdhani to Delhi from Mumbai to promote “Raees”.  But things got out of control when fans went berserk at the Vadodara station, leaving one person dead and two policemen were injured.

Calling the incident unfortunate, the 51-year-old actor said he was saddened and praying for the family of the deceased to remain strong.

“One of our colleagues was travelling with us. Her uncle came to see her at Vadodara. He suffered a cardiac arrest. It was really unfortunate,” Shah Rukh told the media at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station. “We started the journey thinking we all will travel, spend time with each other… When one of your own loses someone on a trip like this, it saddens us all,” he said.

Social activist Farid Khan Pathan of Hatikhana area of Vadodara, who reached the Vadodara station with his wife and daughter as the family adores the actor, reportedly fell unconscious after suffering cardiac arrest. The man was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.

[ecp code=”4″] But some reports suggest he died because of suffocation due to the teeming crowds. The actor, shocked to hear about the death said, “On behalf of everyone, our prayers and blessings are with the whole family. We have some of our people with the family there.”

Shah Rukh Khan travelled from Mumbai to Delhi on the August Kranti Express as part of his promotional tour, “Raees by Rail” for the film which releases tomorrow.

Officials at the railway police control room here said, “At around 10.30pm, the train arrived at platform number six of the station and halted for 10 minutes.”

“Shah Rukh’s fans had gathered in large number to have a glimpse of the actor who had boarded the train from Mumbai,” railway police said.

“The crowd went berserk when the train halted and began banging its window panes and even falling on top of each other. Police had to resort to mild lathicharge to control the crowd.

“When the train started moving, people started running along with it. Due to the rush, one person died of breathlessness and two policemen posted there to control the crowd were injured,” they said.
