“Kaun Banega Crorepati” is unquestionably the biggest quiz show ever on the Indian television till date, as it gives the participants the opportunity to make millions by using their knowledge and reasoning ability.
The show, modelled on the UK game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”, kept us hooked to the television for an hour everyday and we saw Amitabh Bachchan make an explosive comeback via the small screen. The prize money was huge and every one wanted to try out their luck.
In 15 years, the show made 7 common people a millionaire. But what these millionaires are doing now? Perhaps no one knows about that. Here’s a list of the contestants who won the highest prize money and what they’re up to now.
1.Harshwardhan Nawathe
Season: 1st
Prize Money: 1 Crore
Harshvardhan Nawathe, an aspiring civil services candidate, became the first ever contestant to win Rs 1 crore prize money on “Kaun Banega Crorepati” in 2000. He became a mini-celebrity after winning the money and the fame took the focus away from studies and he did not sit for UPSC exam. Later, he went for MBA from a University in UK. Now married with two children, Nawathe presently works with Mahindra & Mahindra.

2. Ravi Mohan Saini
Season: Winner of KBC Junior
Prize Money: 1 Crore
Ravi Mohan Saini, was in Class X of the Naval Public School in Andhra Pradesh when he won Rs 1 crore on Junior KBC in 2001. He was only 14 then. The talented boy didn’t stop winning in life. He is all grown up now and serves the country in the capacity of an officer in the Indian Police Service (IPS).
