On Sunday morning, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar announced that he had become father to twins – a boy and a girl – through surrogacy.
The director-producer decided to become a single father and welcomed twins Roohi and Yash into his life. The filmmaker proudly shared the news on Twitter and wrote that he’s ready for whatever it takes to bring up two beautiful souls with the help of his mother and friends like family.
Karan expressed his gratitude to the surrogate who helped fulfil his “lifelong dream” and that she will always remain in his prayers. The baby boy is named Yash after Karan’s father, and the girl will be called Roohi, a rearrangement of his mother’s name Hiroo.
Soon after the big news, Bollywood celebrities congratulated the celebrated filmmaker on his new role.
From Alia Bhatt to Varun Dhawan and Priyanka Chopra to Sonakshi Sinha to Tusshar Kapoor, various personalities from the film world only had the best things to say to Karan Johar.
