8 South Indian Film Stars And Their Side Business

Celebrities have always been known for making good use of their popularity by involving in endorsements, real estate investments, investing in businesses etc. There are many Bollywood stars who runs their side business for permanent and extra income. Here is list of South Film Stars who runs their business excluding acting in films.

1. Akkineni Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna is the owner of the restaurant. In Hyderabad there are restaurant named N-Grill. He also have a Chinese restaurant, named An Asian. Apart from this, the N Convention Center, which hosts events of corporate houses. Apart from south Indian films he also acted in Bollywood film. 

2. Suriya

Suriya is a famous face in the Tamil film industry. He has turned into an entrepreneur by setting up a windmill farm in Coimbatore, near Thirunelveli and has also shown a keen interest in garment export business.

3. Ram Charan

Ram Charan is an equestrian, and entrepreneur. He owns the polo team Ram Charan Hyderabad Polo Riding Club. He serves on the board of directors of MAA TV. In early July 2015, he started his own Hyderabad-based airline business called TruJet. Apart from South, this airlines also offers service in Maharashtra and Goa. Ram Charan is the face & co-owner of obstacle running series, Devil’s Circuit.

4. Pawan Kalyan

A South actor who works in several superhit films, Pawan Kalyan is an actor, producer, writer, politician and the younger brother of Chiranjeevi. The National Award winning star has jumped into the production field which is named as Pawan Kalyan Creative Works. He is planning to produce two films under his production banner.

5. Vijay

Vijay is an Indian film actor and mainly works in Tamil films. What he has started as side business is setting up three marriage halls in Chennai. The mandpams have been named after his mother – Shoba, his son – Sanjay and his wife – Sangeetha. Vijay started a social welfare organisation Vijay Makkal Iyakkam which was officially launched at Pudukottai on 26 July 2009.

6. Arya

Arya is an actor and producer who mainly appears in Tamil films. He has opened a hotel in Chennai named Sea Shell which got a good response. In 2010, Arya ventured into film production in order to promote new talents and help funding small budget films. He established the banner “The Show People” and first produced the comedy film Boss Engira Bhaskaran. Under his banner, he has produced four Tamil movies up to now.

7. Prabhu Deva

Prabhu Deva started his journey as a choreographer and became famous. In a career spanning twenty five years, he has performed and designed a wide range of dancing styles and has garnered two National Film Awards for Best Choreography. He also acted in many films. Now he has landed into a business where he has taken the step of setting his own production house named Prabhu Deva Studios. During the launch of his production, he made a big announcement that he will produce three untitled Tamil films under his banner.

8. Prashanth

Prashanth is a Tamil actor who jumped into business in coordination with his father Thiagarajan when they opened India’s largest jewelry mall in Chennai. Younger sister of Prashanth, Preethi Thiagarajan manages the shopping complex as she is a jewelry designer. The tower has been named as Prashanth Real Gold Tower which is spread across ten floors with ATMs and food courts as well.
