After having won everyone’s hearts and attention with the epic historical trilingual film Veeram, the versatile actor Kunal Kapoor has now reportedly been joined the cast of sports drama ‘Gold’, which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead.
The film, to be helmed by Reema Kagti, is an Excel Entertainment production.
The movie is based on the story of Indian hockey team led by Balbir Singh, which won the first Olympic medal for the country as a free nation in 1948.

“So excited to collaborate with Excel, Reema Kagti and one of my fav actors Akshay Kumar, on this wonderful script,” Kunal posted on Twitter.
Reports have it that, Kunal Kapoor will now be training for a good five to six months, before he starts shooting for Gold. Kunal Kapoor will apparently be playing a professional hockey player in the film.
“Gold” marks Kagti third directorial venture after “Talaash” and “Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd”. The film is expected to go on floors by July or August this year.
