Renowned bollywood actor and politician Vinod Khanna passes away on Thursday morning (27 April ) following prolonged illness. He was 70. Khanna, who was undoubtedly the finest actors in the Hindi film industry breathed his last yesterday morning at 11.20 am. The funeral was held last evening in Worli, Mumbai was attended by a number of his contemporaries, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Ranjit,Jackie Shroff and many others.

Many Indian celebrities and politicians shared their condolences to Vinod Khanna’s family and friends. The actors, who had the chance of working with him, shared their experiences and said that it was an honour to share a screen space with him.

Indian dairy cooperative Amul always has their versions of any pressing topic that is political or social or is trending on social media. Amul, who have this photo segment called Amul Topical, shared a tribute in the honour of late Vinod Khanna which is equally heartwarming and heartbreaking.

In their tribute to Khanna, they captioned the picture as, “#Amul Topical: Tribute to one of Hindi cinema’s favourite superstars,”  while the quote on the photo reads, “Yeh Kabhi Na Ruka Haar Ke. Hamara Apna Vinod Khanna.’

 

Vinod Khanna had acted in more than 141 films in his career. was a sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Gurdaspur district of Punjab.

As the last rites of Vinod Khanna took place yesterday, many of the scheduled events were cancelled. Premiere of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion called off, as announced by producer Karan Johar. Amitabh Bachchan too cancelled the promotional activities for Sarkar 3. Even, Priyanka Chopra postponed all her commitments for promoting Baywatch.

The ailing actor had been hospitalised for a brief period, and generally had not been keeping well for a long time.  His health became a cause of concern in the recent weeks when a photo of him looking frail and weak started doing rounds on social media.

Vinod is survived by his wife – Kavita Khanna, his sons – Akshaye and Rahul form his first marriage and, Sakshi and Shraddha from second.
