Arshad Warsi’s bungalow partially demolished by BMC for carrying out an illegal construction

A portion of Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s bungalow at Versova in Mumbai has been demolished by BMC on Monday. An additional floor was added to the building by the actor illegally.

Arshad had built an additional floor to the bungalow illegally after buying it in 2012 from a retired Air India Captain. BMC had issued a notice to the actor on Saturday, asking him to remove the illegal portion in 24 hours.

After buying the bungalow in 2012, Warsi made a few renovations that were later objected by the society members. In 2013, BMC was to remove the illegal construction but the actor issued a stay order from the court.  However, the stay order has now been removed, and thus BMC is free to act.

The demolition team of the civic body served the notice to the actor on Saturday and demolished the illegally constructed area on Monday, the official said.

“We have done a part demolition of the illegally constructed portion as the actor was not present in the bungalow. The remaining illegal construction will be demolished soon,” he said.

Confirming the news of demolition, the actor said to TOI, “It’s true.”

On the work front, Warsi recently dubbed for the Hindi version of Hollywood film, Pirates Of The Carribean: Salazar’s Revenge. He was roped in, to dub for Hollywood actor Johnny Depp’s popular character Captain Jack Sparrow for the Hindi version of upcoming fantasy film. He is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s “Golmaal Again” starring Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Parineeti Chopra and Tabu.
