Bollywood actor R. Madhavan turns 48 today. The actor who was born on June 1, 1970 has a huge fan following. The actor is still going strong in the industry. He is one of the popular actor who needs no introduction. He has made his different identity in the industry with his performance.
Today, on the occasion of his birthday, we are going to tell you about some interesting facts about the actor which you should know.
His full name is Madhavan Balaji Ranganathan and was born on 1st June 1970 in Jamshedpur, Bihar.
Not many people knows that, before making career in acting, Madhavan wants to join Army. He received training with the British Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, which he had, at a point, considered joining.However he missed the age cut-off by six months and was subsequently unable to join the programme.
Madhavan has done his graduation in electronics. After completing the electronics degree, he went on to teach communication and public speaking at workshops around India.
At the Maharashtra workshop, he met his wife Sarita Birje in 1991, an air hostess, who attended his class. After completing the course, the pair began dating and married in 1999. The couple are a proud parents of son Vedant.

He was awarded Best NCC Cadet Maharashtra and got a chance to go to England for it.
Madhavan began his acting career with television guest appearances, including a role on the Zee TV prime-time soap opera Banegi Apni Baat in 1996. After appearing in commercials and in small roles, he later gained recognition in the Tamil film industry.
As most of his fans would know, Madhavan is a vegetarian. In fact he was named PETA India’s 2012 ‘Person Of The Year’, while his son won PETA India’s ‘Compassionate Kid Award’ in December 2014. Madhavan is so passionate about vegetarianism and nature, that he has a kitchen garden of his own, wherein he grows a few veggies and herbs required for some tasteful dishes within the kitchen itself. That’s him with his home grown organic Papayas.
Madhavan who has been in the industry for over 20 years, has charmed us with his powerhouse performances in Rehna Hai Tera Dil Me, Rang de Basanti, 3 Idiots, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, etc.
Not many people knows that he is golf player too. He has appeared in a celebrity charity event in 2007 and has played alongside actor Amitabh Bachchan and director Mani Ratnam.
