Priya Prakash Varrier who became an internet sensation for her wink and eyebrow game is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the film Sridevi Bungalow, directed by Prasanth Mambully.
The trailer of the film has also released. But, the film has embroiled in controversy over the insensitive portrayal of late actress Sridevi’s life.
In the film, Priya plays a lonely actress. The trailer concludes with the death of the actress in a bathtub that appears to be quite similar to Sridevi’s death due to accidental drowning last year.
Boney Kapoor slaps legal notice
Now, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the team. Confirming the same, director Prasanth Mambully told the portal, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. I want to My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).”
Priya, on the other hand, has neither accepted nor denied whether the film is based on the life of Sridevi.

Written and directed by Malayalam director Prasanth Mambully, the film is slated to release in April.
