Actors Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 is one of the most awaited films of the year. The film is all set to release on November 29, 2018. But, ahead of the release, the film has get into trouble as a complaint filed against 2.0 for falsely depicting mobile phones.
The complaint has been filed by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). The makers have been accused of promoting “obscurantist and anti-scientific attitude toward the mobile phone, towers, and mobile services.”
Complaint filed against 2.0
In the letter of complaint addressed to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the COAI has claimed that the filmmakers are promoting anti-scientific attitude.
COAI has also requested CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to revoke the certificate issued for the teaser, trailer, promotional videos and the film with immediate effect.
2.0 is a sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi).
In the film, Akshay will be essaying the antagonist, the eccentric scientist called Richard, while Rajinikanth returns as scientist Vaseegaran and Chitti once again.
