Complaint filed against Ranbir Kapoor & Anushka Sharma over derogatory remarks against sex workers in ‘Sanju’

Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Sanju’ is one of the most-awaited films of the year and the makers of the film doesn’t leave any stone unturned to promote their film.

But ahead of the film release, the actors has landed in a legal trouble as the complaint has been filed against Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma or allegedly making derogatory remarks against sex workers in the film.

In one of the scenes in the trailer, we saw Anushka Sharma, who plays a journalist, asking Ranbir about his former girlfriends and affairs he’s had. In his reply, Ranbir Kapoor said “308, without counting the prostitutes”.

This hasn’t gone down well with the sex workers who have approached National Commision for Women and raised their objection against mentioning them in a disrespectful manner.

Sanju traces the life of Sanjay Dutt from his rise to fall and rise again. Dutt has been controversy’s favourite child for a really long time. For illegal possessing arms, he was sentenced to prison.

The biopic also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Karishma Tanna, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza and Jim Sarbh.

The film is slated to release on June 29, 2018.
