Netflix has unveiled the trailer of ‘Delhi Crime’ which is based in the horrific Nirbhaya gang rape case which happened in 2012 and follows the investigation of the brutal case by the Delhi Police.
The trailer starts with Varthika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah) receiving the call about the heinous crime. Shaken by the brutality of it, Varthika leave no stone unturned to nab the culprits.
In the trailer, as Nirbhaya is being carried to a hospital, she requests the cops to not tell her father about the incident.
The seven-part series has been written and directed by award winning Indo-Canadian filmmaker Richie Mehta.
The 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape is one of the most horrifying cases. A young woman was brutally raped and assaulted by five men on a private bus in Delhi. The girl was brutalised with an iron rod and was left to die after being thrown at the side of the road. The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad.
The series co-starring Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, Gopal Datt, Vinod Sherawat and Rajesh Tailang will stream on Netflix from March 22, 2019.
