Xiaomi has announced bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif, as the product endorser for its new Redmi Y series in India. The company launched two new phones as part of the series, RedmiY1 and RedmiY1 Lite.
The actress launches smartphones in Delhi on November 2, 2017.
Redmi Y1 is Xiaomi’s first phone in India which boasts of a selfie-light. This, paired with a 16 MP front facing camera, ensures selfies come out bright and clear even in challenging conditions.
While interacting with media Manu Jain, Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi said in a statement “We are excited to have Katrina as our product endorser for the ‘Redmi Y series’. Katrina is one of those individuals who works extremely hard to complement each and every situation she is a part of.”
While, on the other hand, Katrina said, “I am super pleased to be endorsing a product series which has been designed to enhance everyday routine and complement everyone’s lifestyle, as I personally believe in that philosophy. The Redmi Y1 features 13MP rear and 16MP front camera. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 8,999, while 4GB/64GB variant will be available for Rs 10,999.
Redmi Y1 Lite features 5.5-inch display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable upto 128GB), 13MP rear and 5MP front camera, and 3,080mAh battery. Redmi Y1 Lite is priced at Rs 6,999.
The devices will be available from November 8 across Amazon.In, Mi.Com, Mi Home stores, and Xiaomi’s offline partners.
