Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Abi breathed his last on November 30 in a hospital in Kochi. He was 49 years old.
According to hospital sources, he had been undergoing treatment for reduced blood platelet count. He was being treated for dengue.
A PRO from Amrita Hospital in Kochi told The News Minute, “He was brought dead to the hospital at 10.20. The death happened 45 mins before that. He was battling cancer and had been under treatment of Dr Pavitran for the last five to six months,” the PRO said.
Abi was popular for his amazing mimicry art and his cassettes were also popular in 80s and 90s. His real name is Habeeb Ahamed.
Abi is best known for his roles in Malayalam films like Mazhavil Koodaram, Aniyathipravu, Kireedamillatha Rajakkanmar, Mimics Action 500 and Resikan. He has worked in more than 50 Malayalam films.
