Meet actors who played the role of Lord Hanuman on-screen!

Playing God ain’t easy. You have to be perfect in everything that you do and maintain a calm demeanour throughout. But Bollywood actors aren’t looking for easy. They love a challenge when they see it and hence have taken up the challenge to play God on-screen. Well, today, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, let’s take a look at actors who played the role of Lord Hanuman on-screen.

1. Dara Singh


 Dara Singh was the first actor to play Hanuman on television and he became so popular with this role, that people started worshiping him as Hanuman. Then, there came a time when Dara Singh’s photograph in his Hanuman avatar was placed in temples across Umargaon. He played the role of Hanuman in Ramayan, Bajrangi, Mahabharat and Lav Kush.

2. Vindu Dara Singh

Vindu Dara Singh, son of Dara Singh. He had played Hanuman so many time in film & serials like Jai VeerHanuman, Vishnu Puraan, Bhagwatam, Jai Maa Vaishnov Devi, Ramdashu, Maruti Mera Dost, Goswami Tulsidas, etc.

3. Danish Akhtar

Danish Akhtar played the role of Hanuman in TV show Siya Ke Ram. Danish says playing Hanuman is special for him as he is his “one of the most lovable characters in Ramayan”. Danish trained by the Great Khali debuted on TV with the role of Hanuman in Siya Ke Ram. He trained for 6 hours in the ring to get a perfect physique and also took three hours to get into the Hanuman look.

4. Nirbhay Wadhwa 

Nirbhay Wadhwa played the role of Hanuman in TV show ‘Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman’. The 28-year-old hails from Jaipur and was a part of several print and TV ads before getting into acting. “Before playing Hanuman, I’d also played Dushashan’s role in Mahabharata and the response was overwhelming. It feels really great that you have a huge fan following by merely being a part of the mythological shows. This shows that it is not only the daily soaps that work on TV,” he says.

5. Ishant Bhanushali

The talented child actor, Ishant Bhanushali has wowed everyone with his performance a Bal Hanuman in ‘Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan’. What amazes us that the little boy after bagging the role of Bal Hanuman, rehearses the Hanuman Chalisa every day. That’s not it, Ishant is so religious that he visits the Hanuman temple every Saturday, which is known as the day for lord Hanuman.
