It is common for actresses these days to continue working even after marriage.  But who says career is an important priority for all married actresses? There are many Bollywood actresses who have left their fame and career behind to focus on their marriage and family. 1. Asin Thottumkal

Bollywood actress Asin Thottumkal got married to Micromax CEO, Rahul Sharma in January, 2016. She quits acting after getting married. She did not sign any new assignments after marriage.

2. Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna made her screen debut opposite Bobby Deol from Barsaat in 1995. In her acting career she had done many films like Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Jaan, Mela,  Chal Mere Bhai etc. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega.  In 2001, she married her beau Akshay Kumar and left the film industry. She is now a successful interior designer, newspaper columnist and film producer.

3. Sonali Bendre

Known as the Humma Humma girl, Sonali Bendre worked in hit films. During her film career, Sonali has worked with all the Khans in Bollywood, however, as an actress her popularity quotient could never get an inch closer to these biggies. She married film actor-director, Goldie Behl on November 12, 2002, and left the film industry. She was only seen in 2 movies doing special appearances after marriage. Although the actress was recently seen on small screen as a judge in realty show.

4. Mandakini

The light-eyed anglo-Indian actress became famous for her roles in films like Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Aakhri Baazi. The beautiful and talented actress quit the Bollywood after she got married in 1990 with a  Buddhist monk who got famous as a child as the baby featured in the Murphy Radio ads. She lives in Mumbai with her husband and children and conducts Tibetan Yoga classes.

5. Neetu Singh

Neetu Singh started her career as a child artist and went on to work in many Bollywood films as a lead actress. Neetu Singh was only 14 years old when she started dating Rishi Kapoor, and at the mere age of 21, she tied the knot with him. Their wedding was the biggest and most awaited extravaganza of tinsel town at that time. Post-marriage, Neetu retired from the film industry. In her own words:”I wanted to devote all my life to my family.”

6. Bhagyashree

The cute and gorgeous actress Bhagyashree is best known for her role in the 1989 blockbuster film Maine Pyaar Kiya with Salman Khan. The film was a huge success and her character ‘Suman’ became the ideal girl for the youth in India. However, she broke her fans’ hearts, when she married actor Himalaya at the age of 19 and left the industry.

7. Gayatri Joshi

After working in many TV commercials and music videos the beautiful girl Gayatri, made her Bollywood debut in December 2004 in  Swades opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She quit the acting after getting with Vikas Oberoi, Promoter of Oberoi Construction on 27 August 2005.

8. Genelia D’souza

Genelia D’souza has established herself one of the famous actress in South industry. The actress said goodbye to her acting career after getting married with bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh in 2012. She is now happily taking care of her two sons.

9. Namrata Shirodkar

Former Femina Miss India 1993, Namrata Shirodkar worked in hit films like Vaastav, Pukaar, Bride and Prejudice. She got married to Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in 2005, and since then has not appeared on the silver screen. Now she lives in Hyderabad with her family.

10. Meenakshi Sheshadri

She ruled the box office in the 80s with films like Damini, Ghayal and Hero. The beautiful actress Meenakshi Sheshadri stopped acting after marriage with Harish Mysore a investment banker. She lives in the US with her husband and two kids. A gifted dancer, Meenakshi now teaches various forms of Indian classical dances to students in Sugarland, Texas.

11. Amrita Arora

Starting her career  in 2002 opposite Fardeen Khan in the film, Kitne Door Kitne Paas, Amrita done films like Awara Paagal Deewana, Girlfriend, Raakh, Golmaal Returns etc. In 2009 after married with Shakeel Ladak a divorced businessman from the construction industry and say good bye to glamorous world. Now she is busy in take care of her two kids Azaan and Rayaan.

12. Urmila Matondkar

Urmila is particularly known for her work in the thriller film genres. She established herself as one of the most influential celebrities in India. She got married to Kashmir-based businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir on 3 March 2016 and bids adieu to the film industry.
