Meet unknown first wives of Bollywood actors!

Being a Bollywood celeb’s better half can be a bit overwhelming at times. All the cameras, paparazzi’s unwanted attention and limelight may make one cringe and crave for a normal life. This can be one of the reasons why many of the spouses of famous Bollywood celebs prefer to stay out of the glitz and glamour of the limelight, and the life that comes with it. Today, we are going to meet you the unknown first wife of bollywood actors.

1. Sanjay Dutt

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt married actress Richa Sharma in 1987. Sharma died of brain tumour in 1996. The couple have a daughter, Trishala, born in 1988, who lives in the United States with her grandparents. Dutt’s second marriage was to model Rhea Pillai in 1998. They divorced in 2005. Dutt married Manyata (born Dilnawaz Sheikh) in 2008 in a private ceremony in Goa, after two years of dating. On 21 October 2010, he became a father to twins, a boy and a girl.

2. Kamal Haasan

In 1978, at age 24, Kamal married dancer Vani Ganapathy. They divorced ten years later. Kamal and the actress Sarika began living together in 1988, marrying after the birth of their first child, Shruti Haasan. In 2002, the couple filed for divorce, which became final in 2004. Later, Kamal has been living with former actress Gautami Tadimalla from 2005. In 2016, Gautami  had announced on her blog that she had ended her relationship with him.

3. Kishore Kumar

Kishore Kumar married four times. His first wife was Bengali singer and actress Ruma Guha Thakurta aka Ruma Ghosh. Their marriage lasted from 1950 to 1958. His second wife was actress Madhubala. This union ended after nine years with Madhubala’s sad demise. Kishore’s third marriage was to Yogeeta Bali, and lasted from 1976 to 4 August 1978. In 1980, Kishore Da again fell in love with Leena Chandavarkar, another young bollywood actress. Their union saw an end after the sad demise of Kishore Da.

4. Saif Ali Khan

Everyone knows that Saif Ali Khan was first married to Amrita Singh. They have two children, daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan. They stayed together for almost thirteen years until they divorced in the year 2004. It is being said that, Saif Ali Khan cheated on Amrita Singh and started dating Italian model Rosa Catalano, an Italian dancer. These two were in a live-in relationship, but it too could not go a long way. At present Saif is married to actress Kareena Kapoor and living happily married life. The duo got married in 2012 after five-years of courtship.The couple is blessed with a baby boy named Taimur Ali Khanon December 20, 2016.

5. Aamir Khan

Khan married Reena Dutta, who had a small part in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, on 18 April 1986. They have two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira. Reena was involved briefly in Khan’s career when she worked as a producer for Lagaan. In December 2002, Khan filed for divorce. Reena took custody of both children. On 28 December 2005, Khan married Kiran Rao. The couple has a son Azad Rao Khan.

6. Boney Kapoor

Boney was married to Mona Shourie in 1983 and the couple have two children, Arjun Kapoor (born 1985) and Anshula (born in 1987). To get marry Sridevi, Boney divorced his wife Mona.

7. Dharmendra

Dharmendra’s first marriage was to Parkash Kaur at the age of 19 in 1954. From his first marriage, he has two sons, Sunny and Bobby, successful actors, and two daughters, Vijeeta and Ajeeta. After moving to Mumbai and getting into the film business, Dharmendra wed Hema Malini after converting to Islam to stay married to his first wife without having to get a divorce. The couple has two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

8. Javed Akhtar

Javed Akhtar was married to Honey Irani, with whom he had two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. Javed divorced Irani and later married Shabana Azmi.

9. Vinod Khanna

Vinod Khanna met his first wife Gitanjali in college. The duo got married in 1971 and had two sons, Rahul and Akshaye. In 1975, the actor became disciplined of Osho. In the early 80s, he moved to Rajneeshpuram and his absence from the family, who remained in India caused the friction between the couple and later, the couple divorced in 1985.  In 1990, upon returning to India, Khanna married Kavita Daftary, daughter of industrialist Sharayu Daftary. They had a son, Sakshi (born 1991), and a daughter, Shraddha.

10. Aditya Chopra

Aditya Chopra was married to Payal Khanna. The duo got married in 2001. Payal was Adi’s high school friend. Later, Aditya got involved with bollywood actress Rani Mukherji. Then the couple divorced in 2009. It is said that Rani is the reason of divorce between Payal and Adi. On 21 April 2014, Aditya got married actress Rani Mukerji in a private wedding ceremony in Italy. In December 2015, Rani gave birth to their daughter Adira Chopra.
