Story of the movie: The film revolves around Murad Ali Mohammed (Rishi Kapoor) is the head of Muslim Family living in Banaras. In his family, there is his wife Tabbsum (Neena Gupta), son Indraneil Sengupta, daughter-in-law Arti (Taapsee Pannu), brother Bilaal (Manoj Pahwa) and his wife. Murad is the respected lawyer of that area. He lives his life happily. One day, Bilaal’s son Shahid (Prateik Babbar) gets provoked by an alleged terrorist to plant a bomb blast for the sake of his religion’s good. The entire family of Murad Ali comes under the radar of police. Then, Murad’s family decides to fight against this conspiracy. The story moves forward when Hindu daughter-in-law Aarti (Taapsee Pannu) of Murad Ali’s Muslim family defends them in the court.
Star Performance: Rishi Kapoor played the character of Murad Ali in a superb manner. Taapsee Pannu also played her role brilliantly. Ashutosh Rana who played the role of defense lawyer was also good. While, rest of the cast like Neena Gupta, Prateik Babbar, Rajat Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa and others have done justice to their roles.
Music Direction: The film’s music is good.
Direction: Anubhav Sinha showed this issue in a simple way. The love and hate between two communities are clearly shown in the film. The first half of this court drama sheds light on the happy side of this family and the turning point in their lives. While it manages to keep us hooked all the time, few scenes fail to keep our attention undivided.
Watch Or Not: The film must be watched!
