Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Kaalakaandi’ has been released in cinemas. It’s a raucous, dark-comedy tale about life, death, karma, that barrels through one monsoon night in Mumbai.

Story of the movie: The film is a dark comedy, where three tracks run at the same time happening within the duration of one random night in the city. The film starts with a health-conscious upmarket Rileen (Saif Ali Khan) finding out he’s suffering from a stomach cancer. After finding this, he wants to live his life doing things which he never did. Than Rileen goes back to home at a marriage function of his brother Angad (Akshay Oberoi) and tries a drug. Rileen’s story proceed with two other parallel stories that are there in the film. One of a couple (played by Sobhita Dhulipala and Kunaal Roy Kapur) and other of two local gangsters (played by Deepak Dobriyal and Vijay Raaz). These parallel storylines have no connection with each other and have just one thing in common Kaalakaandi. It’s about all these characters finds themselves in serious troubles during the night and how it ends for them.

Star Performance: Saif Ali Khan has delivered a brilliant performance. It can be said that without Saif the film will be worse. After seeing his performance in the film, it can be said that he has delivered a best performance in his career. On the other hand, Vijay Raaz and Deepak Dobriyal have done justice to their roles. The rest of the film’s star cast have also done justice to their roles.

Music Direction: The film’s music is okay. The music of the film does not fit according to scenes.

Direction: The film’s direction is okay. The story of the film seems scattered. The film lacks stability. This film could have been much, much better if Akshat had only concentrated on Rileen’s life. Unfortunately, he never makes clear what the story wants to say and ends it on a pretty abrupt note.

Watch Or Not: If you like black-comedy films, than you can watch it once.
