Superstar Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera has been roped in to handle the security in India for the Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour.
Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, is considered the most trusted aide of Salman for over 20 years.
Informed sources say he will be personally monitoring the security arrangements of Justin Bieber during his stay in India later this month.
As a sign of his loyalty, Salman chose to use the badge and uniform of Shera’s own firm, Tiger Security, in his 2011 film Bodyguard. In the past, he has handled the security of international actors like Will Smith, Jackie Chan and Keanu Reaves.
Confirming the news to HT, Salman says, “The Khan family and I are very happy for Shera. There’s no need for any artist to be worried when Shera is around. He is very reliable and a complete no-nonsense person. A thorough professional, he is one of the finest in India and I swear by him.”
A source close to the Khan family tells HT that Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, will be with Bieber for his entire time in India. “He will be personally monitoring the security arrangements of the Canadian popstar when he is in India for his world tour,” the source tells us.
Justin Bieber will be landing in India on May 7, and will stay in Mumbai until his gig on May 10. The 23-year-old will then move to Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
