Bollywood film industry may be all about films, talent etc but one thing we cannot deny is the importance of looks or on-screen appearance of the lead actors and actresses. The age has taken a toll and they look totally different from they looked when they were just teenagers who debuted in the Bollywood industry. Whatever may be the case, each of these actress don’t look like how they used to anymore. 1. Vyjayanthimala


Vyjayanthimala is one of the first South Indian actresses to make it big in Bollywood, In her time she was more than what meets the eye. But,today no one will be able to recognise her now.

2. Asha Parekh

Asha Parekh is a Bollywood actress, director, and producer. She was one of the top stars in Hindi films from 1959 to 1973. In 1992, she was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Parekh is regarded as one of the most successful and influential Hindi movie actresses of all time. She is now away from films.

3Rakhee Gulzar

Veteran actress Rakhee, who once shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra who has not seen on silver screen more than a decade. Rakhee has kept to herself away from the prying eyes of paparazzi living in a farmhouse on the outskirts of Panvel. If you look at her latest pics, the 69-year-old actor looks almost unrecognizable.

4. Waheeda Rehman

Waheeda Rehman is an Indian actress who is popularly known for her movies like Pyasa, Kagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Biwi Aur Gulam, Ram Aur Shyam. She got married to Kamal. She has been cited as the Bollywood’s “most beautiful” actress by various media outlets, a title for which she has received substantial publicity.

5. Babita Kapoor

Mother to Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, Babita did some substantial work in Bollywood from the 60s to 70s. She left the industry after meeting Randhir Kapoor. Born on 20th April, 1948, Babita is 69-year-old today.

6. Tanuja

 Tanuja started her career with the movie “Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi,” in 1966 and then went on to star in movies like “Anubhav” and “Jewel Thief.” She is the mother of actresses Kajol and Tanisha.

7. Saira Banu

Saira Banu is an Indian Bollywood actress and the wife of the film actor Dilip Kumar. She acted in many Bollywood films between 1961 and 1980. She is one of the successful actresses. In 1976, Saira chose to end her film career  and her last film ‘Faisla’ released in 1988 which was filmed and completed in mid-70s.

8Jaya Bachchan

Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan is an Indian politician and film actress. She is an alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. She is the wife of Amitabh Bachchan and is the mother of Shweta Bachchan-Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. Jaya is recognised as one of the finest Hindi film actresses of her time.

9. Mumtaz

Mumtaz had been a junior actress in movies and after a few movies later, was absorbed into the mainstream cinema. This 70-year-old actress retired from movies 1977 though appeared in one or two films later on. Her famous films have been “Khilona,” “Apradh,” etc.

10. Mala Sinha

Veteran actress Mala Sinha, better known as the ‘daring diva’ of the 50’s, earned the title for taking on roles her contemporaries back then never touched. The actress not only starred in several Bengali films, but also ventured into Bollywood. After making a humble debut with Roshanara (1952), she soon made her mark in the Hindi film industry with her performance-driven roles in ‘Pyaasa’ (1957), ‘Phir Subah Hogi’ (1958), ‘Dhool Ka Phool’ (1959) and a slew of projects that followed.
