Watch: Here’s how Ranbir Kapoor transformed into Munnabhai for ‘Sanju’

Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has done tremendous business at the Indian box office. The Sanjay Dutt biopic is well on its way to the coveted Rs 300-crore club.

The biopic on the life of Bollywood’s bad boy Sanjay Dutt has got a thumbs up from fans. Ranbir, who has delivered the biggest hit of his career with Sanju, has earned much praise for his performance.

For the film, Ranbir has transformed himself to look alike Sanjay Dutt. But do you know, how the 35-year old transformed himself into the iconic and adorable character of Munnabhai?

 Recently, the makers has released a video, where you can see how Ranbir transform into Munnabhai. The filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani too talked about how he felt while recreating the iconic role, “Munnabhai is an integral part of Sanjay Dutt’s life. For me, it was a very nostalgic journey to recreate the scenes 10 years later. And, transforming Ranbir as Munnabhai was a different task altogether.”

 With the help of prosthetics, make-up and haircut, the makers got the desired look. According to Ranbir, “It was probably the 13th look test when we got the look right. I don’t know, I have simply lost count.” The actor stated that playing Munnabhai was a “surreal” experience.

Meanwhile, the biopic also stars Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala and Sonam Kapoor.
